This eye-catching utensil is masterfully crafted from layers of colored birch wood to create a gorgeous color array. At 12-1/2 inches long it can reach even the deepest of cooking pots and is safe for use on nonstick coatings! The notch included in the handle of the spoon allows it to easily rest on the side of the pot when not in use— keeping your countertops clean and the spoon at the ready! It also includes a convenient hanging hole at the top of the handle for easy storage and display. To clean, hand wash or wipe with a damp cloth; do not soak or wash in the dishwasher. Fantastic Notched Spoon

I bought this spoon and another item from the set for my son-in-law of Italian descent for Christmas, but I also own this and others. It is just wonderful for stirring spaghetti sauce and then placing the notch on the edge of the saucepan until a stir is needed again. No messy counter. The colors are so bright and cheerful, it makes me happy whenever I use it. The only "disadvantage" is that you must take care not to allow the spoon to soak in water or it will sustain damage. I give it a quick wipe with a paper towel, then apply mild dish soap with my hands and rinse quickly in running warm water. A quick wipe with a dish towel and voila - ready for the next batch of sauce.
