Description
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Yankee Magazine, we are proud to present the Autumn in New England Throw, handcrafted in Maine by the master weavers of Swan's Island. This is more than a blanket. It is a tribute to the colors, textures, and traditions that define New England in its most cherished season.
Each throw is woven by hand on traditional looms, a process that takes weeks of careful work. More than 17 shades of wool, many colored with natural dyes, are blended together to capture the beauty of late October in Maine’s blueberry barrens. Rich reds, bittersweet oranges, golden yellows, deep burgundies, and fading greens are worked into the fabric in a way that feels alive with the rhythm of autumn itself.
To honor Yankee’s 90 years of storytelling, each throw features 90 distinct color changes. Hand-applied inlays of wool roving add a subtle texture that gives depth and character, ensuring that no two are alike. The result is a piece that is as much art as it is comfort.
Only 90 throws will ever be made, making each a unique collectable. They are woven to last for generations, a true heirloom that can be handed down, carrying with it the spirit of New England craftsmanship and the fleeting beauty of our fall landscapes.
